Cuenca Ecuador

The city of  Cuenca  — in full,  Santa Ana de los cuatro ríos de Cuenca  — is the capital of the  Azuay Province . It is located in the  highlands  of  Ecuador  at about 2500 m above sea level. The center of the city is listed as a UNESCO  World Heritage Trust site  because of its many historical buildings. Most tourists visit the historic area, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, between the river Tomebamba and the street Gran Colombia to the north, General Torres to the west, and Hermano Miguel to the east. This area's compactness, grid-like layout, and numerous readily identifiable monuments make it easy to navigate. Outside this area the city can be confusing, as there are dozens of narrow colonial streets with similar buildings. Chiclayo Peru

Chiclayo  ( Spanish pronunciation:  [tʃiˈklaʝo] ) is the capital city of the  Lambayeque region  in northern  Peru . It is located 13 kilometers inland from the Pacific coast and 770 kilometers from the nation's capital,  Lima . As of 2011, Chiclayo is the  fourth most populous  city in  Peru  with a population of 629,990 comprising 6 contiguous urban districts:  Chiclayo, José Leonardo Ortiz, La Victoria, Pomalca, Reque and Pimentel ; It is also the principal city of the  fourth most populous metropolitan area of Peru . Founded by Spanish explorers as "Santa María de los Valles de Chiclayo" in the 16th century, it was declared a city on 15 April 1835 by president  Felipe Santiago Salaverry . He named Chiclayo "the Heroic City" to recognize the courage of its citizens in the fight for independence, a title it still holds. Other nicknames for Chiclayo include "The Capital of Friendship" and the "Pearl of the North"....

Lima Peru

The  capital of Peru ,  Lima  is a burgeoning metropolis with a population of over 9 million. Visitors to  Lima  flock to the posh seaside neighbourhoods of Miraflores and Barranco. Dotted with parks and open spaces, these neighbourhoods  offer  quite respite from the frantic cajoling of buses, taxis, and paddlers on the city streets. Fruit carts, shoe shiners, and magazine stands adorn nearly every street corner. The hub of  activity centers  in the Ovalo Miraflores, where huge  department stores  loom over backpacker  hostels  and churches. Stroll the shops on Larco street until the buildings give way to a lush open green, the glossy high-rise JW Marriot, and the crystalline Pacific Ocean. Cusco Peru

Cusco   / ˈ k uː z k oʊ / , often spelled  Cuzco  ( Spanish :  Cuzco ,  [ˈkusko] ;  Quechua :  Qusqu  or  Qosqo , IPA:  [ˈqɔsqɔ] ), is a city in southeastern  Peru , near the  Urubamba Valley  of the  Andes  mountain range. It is the capital of the  Cusco Region  as well as the  Cuzco Province . In 2007, the city had a population of 358,935. Located on the eastern end of the Knot of Cuzco, its elevation is around 3,400 m (11,200 ft). Cusco was the site of the historic capital of the  Inca Empire  and was declared a  World Heritage Site  in 1983 by  UNESCO . It is a major tourist destination and receives almost 2 million visitors a year. It is designated as the Historical Capital of Peru by the  Constitution of Peru . [1]

Arequipa  is the capital and largest city of the  province of Arequipa  and the seat of the Constitutional Court. Also known as the White City, it is the second most populous city in  Peru , with 861,145 inhabitants according to INEI projections. [2]  It is the third most populous metropolis of Peru . Arequipa is an important commercial center of Peru [3]  and is the second most industrialized city in the country. [4]  Its industrial activity includes manufacturing and the exporting of high quality wool. The city has close trade ties with  Chile ,  Bolivia  and Brazil . Cochabamba  is a city in central  Bolivia , located in a valley bearing the same name in the  Andes   mountain range . It is the  capital  of the  Cochabamba Department  and is the  fourth largest city in Bolivia  with an urban approximate population of 630,587 (2012) [1]  and a metropolitan population of more than 1,000,000 people. The name derives from a compound of the  Quechua  words  qucha , meaning "lake", and  pampa , "open  plain ". [2]  Residents of the city and surrounding areas are commonly referred to as  Cochalas . Cochabamba is known as the "City of Eternal Spring" and "The Garden City" due to its spring-like temperatures year round. It is also known as "La Llaqta", "town" in Quechua. The city is host to the first  World People's Conference on Climate Change  and the Rights of Mother Earth.

Santa Cruz de la Sierra (locally: [ˈsanta ˈkɾus de la ˈsjera]), commonly known as Santa Cruz (locally: [ˈsanta ˈkɾus]), is the capital of the Santa Cruz department in eastern Bolivia.[1] Situated on the River Pirai in eastern Bolivia, the city of Santa Cruz and its metropolitan area are home to over 70% of the population of the department[3] and it is one of the fastest growing cities in the world.[4] The city was first founded in 1561 by Spanish explorer Ñuflo de Chavez about 200 km (124 mi) east of its current location, and was moved several times until it was finally established on the Pirai River in the late 16th century.
